The fact that concrete is a tough and durable material has been common knowledge for thousands of years. Ancient traces of the material dating back some

7000 years have been discovered and some of the most famous buildings from the Roman Empire, including the Pantheon, were built of concrete. Yet in spite of this, knowledge of making concrete was forgotten.It wasn’t until the 17th century that concrete was rediscovered and once more became one of the most common construction materials of our time. HTC is now taking concrete to the next level with our polished concrete floor, the HTC Superfloor™.

Its Latin name, concretum, has become synonymous throughout history with strength and durability. HTC Superfloor™ is the revolutionary flooring concept with a technique that makes concrete more than just strong and hard-wearing. The technique is as simple as it is ingenious. HTC’s machines and diamond tools grind and polish concrete floors to remove the surface paste and expose the stronger concrete beneath. The result of this process is a stronger, more durable, shiny and beautiful polished concrete floor. The environment and your bottom line both benefit too.

What is it?

Polishing concrete

HTC Superfloor™ is a complete concept for polishing concrete. The polishing method mechanically refines the concrete surface by removing the top cement paste and exposing the underlying, stronger concrete. The existing concrete is grinded and polished according to a dependable and thoroughly tested method with HTC’s effective concrete polishing equipment and diamond tools. The result is a floor with a completely even polished surface of a high quality, both functionally and esthetically. To achieve all technical benefits demanded for calling the surface a HTC Superfloor™, the grinding and polishing sequence must be performed according to the prescribed method.

Several factors will affect the final appearance:

The stone quality and color. In Sweden the ballast material mainly consists of granite in different fraction sizes.
The color of the cement (the cement can be pigmented).

The concrete quality.
Grinding depth: With different grit sizes and bonding matrix in the diamond segments you can somewhat control how deep you grind into the concrete surface. The grinding depth will affect how much of the stones that is exposed and also in turn the aestehetical appearance of the polished surface.

The technical advantages with a HTC Superfloor™ has been verified in several test att the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute, SP (SP 99B4, 4806) (SS 13 72 41) (prEN 13892-3, Böhme) (EN 14617-3).

HTC Superfloor™ is an extremely economical option for all types of business activities. Compared with traditional methods for concrete floors or epoxy, for example, HTC Superfloor™ offers unbeatable durability. The processed construction concrete has an unlimited lifespan, i.e. the same as the lifespan of the building. The initial investment is the same, or lower, than for traditional flooring solutions, but the low maintenance cost and the longer life make HTC Superfloor™ the most lucrative investment option for an industrial floor but also in most other environments. The life cycle cost is about 60% less than for traditional flooring solutions. By using the Twister™ method of cleaning,you’ll find your floor is simple, environmentally-friendly and cost-effective to maintain.

Toward a better environment

Concrete is composed of pure natural materials. The coatings that are often applied to the concrete have an adverse effect on the environment. HTC Superfloor™ uses as much as 30 times less energy than traditional flooring solutions. The Twister™ floor maintenance system is also the only completely eco-friendly cleaning method. Twister™ uses nothing but ordinary water, no chemicals!

A floor to suit all tastes

HTC Superfloor™ is available as four different concepts. Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. This means you can choose between a floor with a matt surface finish or a high gloss finish. What all four of the HTC Superfloor™ concepts have in common is that they are functional, economical, eco-friendly, aesthetically appealing and perfect as industrial floor.

A floor for the electronics industry

The resistance tests conducted, both on floor joists and on concrete slabs on the ground, show that HTC Superfloor™ complies with the SS-EN 61340-5-1 standard for industrial floors in the electronics industry. Measured values fall within the range for the international IEC standard and the American ANSI/ESD standard too. Walk-around tests with ESD shoes generally produce low or no static. The limits stipulated in the standard for the handling of electronics have not been exceeded by HTC Superfloor™ in any cases.

Add color to your floor!

HTC Superfloor™ offers more than just a chance to have a hard-wearing, high-gloss floor. You can also add color of your choice to the conrete floor, without losing any of the floor’s excellent qualities. You might want to bring color to the entire floor or simply incorporate an eye-catching company logo to your industrial floor.

Just add water

The HTC Twister™ cleaning method allows you to keep all types of floors (incl. industrial floors) clean with the minimum of effort. All that is required is water – no chemicals or polishing agents. This make HTC Twister™ more gentle on floors and produces brilliant results. The diamond pads fit most of the scrubbing machines on the market.

The HTC Method

HTC Superfloor™ is a method for grinding and polishing of concrete floors. This is done with HTC’s diamond tools in several steps with gradually smaller and smaller grit sizes. The process consists of grinding, refinement, impregnation and polishing. This procedure gives the surface a high gloss polish and all the qualities that characterize a real HTC Superfloor™.
